The village school currently has 17 nursery, 12 reception, 23 infants and 40 junior children taught by 6 teachers, including the head. There are also 3 teaching assistants and a school secrtretary.

The school offers football, cricket, choir, cultural visits, brass lessons and has its own allotment where the children are encouraged to grow vegetables and gain the opportunity to meet other allotment holders as part of the extended curriculum.

There is no secondary school in the parish but there are three within a 4 mile radius at Tupton, North Wingfield and Hasland.
